There is a village in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu that is considered haunted. The name of this village is Meenakshipuram. This village was once full of people, but today only ruins are left here. Many stories and rumours are heard related to this village, in which some people say that ghosts live here, while others believe that it is affected by some curse.

Why is Meenakshipuram considered haunted?  It is said that the people who lived in Meenakshipuram used to die suddenly. Due to this, the people of the village got scared and migrated from there. Gradually the village became completely empty, and now it is known as a haunted village.

Story of the curse: Some people believe that this village is cursed by some deity. It is said that the people of the village had somehow angered the deities, due to which this curse fell on them. This is also believed to be a reason why people left from here and the village became deserted.

Natural disaster or some other reason? Some people also believe that this village was destroyed by some natural disaster, such as a tsunami or earthquake. Although there is no concrete information about this, it has been a topic of discussion that natural disasters may also be responsible for the destruction of Meenakshipuram.

History of Meenakshipuram: Not much information is available about the history of this village, but some historians believe that this village was once a prosperous port. With time, the port activities stopped, and gradually the village also became empty. Now only ruins are left here, and people are afraid to even go here.

Does anyone live here now? Meenakshipuram is now completely empty, and no one lives here. But still, some people go here for adventure. Those who want to experience scary places stay here at night. Some hotels and lodges have also been built for this, but the condition of the village still remains deserted and scary.
