Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said, "We received a report of a shooting at the Sector 11 police station around 1:30 p.m. When we arrived, we learned it was a suicide. The body of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar was found at his residence. A CFSL team has arrived at the scene and an investigation is underway. More details will emerge after the post-mortem."
