Operation Sindoor: After attending the media briefing on Operation Sindoor by Colonel Sofia Qureshi, her father-in-law Gausab Bagewadi's statement touched the heart of every Indian. Gausab sahab, who hails from Konnur village in Karnataka's Belagavi district, said, "My daughter-in-law has made me proud. She came to the village about six months ago. Today the people of the village are meeting me and congratulating me. I am very happy." When he spoke to his son, who is himself an officer in the Indian Army, he reassured him and said that there is no need to worry about her.

Colonel Sofia Qureshi is an officer of the Signal Corps of the Indian Army. She belongs to a family that has served the army for generations and she dreamt of serving the nation at a very young age. Her husband Colonel Tajuddin Bagewadi is also an officer in the Indian Army and hails from Konnur village in Belgaum district of Karnataka. Her father-in-law Gausab Bagewadi proudly said that there is an atmosphere of celebration in the entire village and the entire family is proud of her.
