Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is currently in the spotlight for his action-packed film War 2, the next big release from the YRF Spy Universe. But even before War 2 hits the screens, excitement is already building for his next ambitious project — Krrish 4. This much-awaited installment in the iconic superhero franchise promises to be bigger and more emotional than ever.
A major update has now surfaced about the film that is sure to surprise fans. According to recent reports, Hrithik will not be playing a double role — as has been the trend in past Krrish films — but a triple role this time. The film will reportedly explore multiple timelines, integrating past, present, and future versions of the character to combat a global threat. This adds a fresh time-travel angle to the story, increasing the scale and emotional depth of the franchise.
Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, and Rekha to ReturnAlongside Hrithik, some key characters from previous films in the franchise are also expected to return. Priyanka Chopra, who played Priya Mehra in Krrish and Krrish 3, is set for a comeback. Interestingly, Krrish 4 will also see the return of Preity Zinta, who played Hrithik’s love interest in Koi... Mil Gaya, as well as veteran actress Rekha, who portrayed the pivotal role of Hrithik's grandmother.
This nostalgic casting hints that Krrish 4 will bring together characters across the entire franchise, possibly through time-travel arcs or flashbacks, to deliver a multi-generational superhero saga.
A Film Rooted in Emotion and High-Concept Sci-FiAccording to a report by Instant Bollywood, Krrish 4 will have its emotional core rooted in family bonds and relationships, while also diving deep into a sci-fi narrative with strong VFX. The film is being prepped as a visual spectacle, and pre-production work is already underway at YRF Studios. A top-tier VFX team is currently working on pre-visualization to bring the time-travel elements and futuristic sequences to life.
Hrithik Roshan to Direct for the First Time? While Rakesh Roshan directed all previous installments, it is being speculated that Hrithik himself may take the director’s chair for Krrish 4. Though not officially confirmed, this move would mark his directorial debut, and it indicates how personally invested he is in taking the franchise forward.
The Return of ‘Jadoo’ and Childhood NostalgiaAdding to the excitement is the news that the alien character ‘Jadoo’ — who first appeared in Koi... Mil Gaya back in 2003 — may also return in Krrish 4. This would mark Jadoo's comeback after 23 years, offering a nostalgic treat for fans of the original film.
When Will the Film Release? With the script still under development and pre-production actively ongoing, Krrish 4 is expected to go on floors in early 2026. Hrithik is reportedly collaborating with Aditya Chopra and a dedicated writing team to polish the story.
