Toby Carvery has been compelled to withdraw one of its promotions following the government's fresh obesity regulations.
The restaurant chain haseliminated its complimentary Pepsi top-ups, as the well-liked option has been affected by new government legislation designed to combat obesity amongst children and young people.
The fresh rules, which took effect on October 1, prohibit multi-purchase promotions on unhealthy food and beverages.

The limitationsencompass "buy one, get one free" deals, alongside complimentary refill arrangements.
Toby Carvery, which provides diners with unlimited top-ups on soft drinks within its establishments, has verified that the offer now excludes full sugar beverages such as Pepsi owing to the legislative amendment.
A spokesperson for Toby Carvery said: "In accordance with the change in legislation, our unlimited soft drink refill choices are all sugar free.
“Our menus continue to offer a full range of soft drink options to our guests."
Some diners took to social media as they noticed the change, with one user commenting: “It was too good to be true. They’ve caved in to the nanny state sugar tax.”
“I always thought it was too good to last,” added another.
Morrisons has also implemented modifications to its offers following the legislative change. designed to combat unhealthy food promotions.
The supermarket's cafés have withdrawn hot chocolates and mochas from their complimentary hot drinks refill scheme.All other hot beverages, including cappuccino, latte and flat white, remain part of the offer.
The government brought in a prohibition on price or multibuy promotions for unhealthy food and drink last week in a bid to address obesity rates across the nation.
The restrictions cover supermarkets, major high street retailers, DIY outlets, garden centres, petrol stations and online sellers.
According to the regulations, complimentary refill promotions for beverages high in fat, salt or sugar are prohibited in restaurants and cafés. Earlier this week, Nandos axed its unlimited Coca-Cola offer to meet the new requirements, sparking dismay amongst some diners.
The supermarket, which had previously provided customers with complimentary refills on all self-service hot beverages in its cafés, has confirmed the scheme now excludes hot chocolate and mocha owing to the legislative changes. Morrisons had previously stated it introduced free hot drink refills to "help customers stay warm throughout the colder months".
One Morrisons customer said on X: "It’s not just the ‘full fat’ Coke in Nando’s. They’ve come for the hot chocolate and mocha in Morrisons! Hot chocolate!
"Lmao I just got challenged by a staff remember for going for a second mocha. It’s not just a sign! I laughed at this but on reflection it’s quite dystopian really. ‘You’ve had your maximum allowance of mocha sir, it’s the law’."
Wetherspoons, which provides unlimited refills on coffee, tea and hot chocolate for £1.71 each, will also be compelled to remove hot chocolate from its offer .A spokesperson for the chain stated: "We are reviewing our position in light of the legislation.
Morrisons shoppers have been left incensed by the alteration, with some turning to social media to share photographs of fresh signage that has appeared beside the self-service hot beverage stations in its coffee shops.
The notices state: "Due to a recent change in legislation, our Hot Chocolate and Mocha are now excluded from our Free Refills offer. ".
