Fans of were impressed by a gesture that was made to one candidate in the boardroom before were announced. It came after the final five had been put through their paces in the interviews stage.
The latest series of the show continued this evening with its semi-final in which the final five candidates had their business plans inspected. It former aide and other advisors of , 78.
Amber-Rose Badrudin, Anisa Khan, Chisola Chitambala, Dean Franklin and Jordan Dargan took on the interviews stage of the process ahead of this year's finalists being announced. The five candidates were questioned over their business proposals for Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment.
Following the interviews, Lord Sugar fired Amber-Rose and Chisola, before speaking to the other three candidates in the boardroom again. He later named Anisa and Dean as his two finalists, but before Lord Sugar fired Jordan, 22, he shared his contact details with the animation entrepreneur and told him to reach out once his business has "moved to the next level".
He told Jordan that he was in the process "too early". Lord Sugar said that whilst Jordan had a "dream," he didn't have the same experience in business as eventual finalists Anisa and Dean, who are the owners of a pizza company and an air conditioning company respectively.
Viewers reacted to Lord Sugar sharing his contact details with Jordan on X tonight. Some fans suggested that they felt emotional over the gesture, whilst others teased that Jordan was a "winner" in his own way as a result of the situation.
One fan wrote this evening: "Not me almost crying at the #TheApprentice. Lord Sugar supporting Jordan is SO lovely!" Someone else said: "That's a really great moment." A third fan said in a post: "Jordan's exit was quite emotional."
Another said: "Oh Lord Sugar that was a lovely gesture. Jordan make sure you take him up on it." One fan wrote: "That's very generous of Alan Sugar. Really kind to Jordan." Beside an emoji with a tear on its face, someone said: "Alan Sugar was definitely fond of Jordan. That was quite a touching farewell."
Someone said: "That was a lovely twist for Jordan. Lord Sugar offering Jordan his contacts. Wishing Jordan all the best and hope he does well." Another fan wrote on the platform: "Jordan basically won without having to win."
Similarly, another person said: "Jordan is the real winner in so many ways, because having Lord Sugar's contact number will no doubt prove invaluable for his future business." They added: "What he will learn from him will be life changing."
Moments before announcing the two finalists when he fired Jordan, Lord Sugar said it was a "very difficult" decision to choose between the three of them. He shared his thoughts on the candidates whilst in the boardroom.
Lord Sugar said: "I've got you, Jordan, that's really got nothing at the moment other than the dream and I've got these two that's got existing business that's making money." He went on to discuss his "gut feeling" shortly afterwards.
Speaking to the candidate, Lord Sugar said before firing him ahead of the final: "Look, I haven't got a problem with someone like you, Jordan, starting from scratch. I mean, everybody's got the start from somewhere with any idea."
He added: "Here's what I've got to say to you. I'm very impressed in the manner in which you have worked your way through this process, but my gut feeling is telling me that you're here too early, mate - that's the problem."
As he directed Jordan towards a piece of paper on the table, Lord Sugar continued: "So I'm gonna say to you this, and I don't do this with many people, this is my contacts. I wish you very, very well and I want you to work very, very hard. And I want you to get in touch with me when you feel that you've moved to the next level."
He then confirmed that he was firing Jordan, telling him: "It is regretful that you're fired." Jordan expressed gratitude, saying: "Thank you so much for that, Lord Sugar. That means the ." Lord Sugar added: "That's a genuine offer."
This year's the Apprentice will conclude next Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 9pm. The final will be followed by companion show You're Fired at 10pm.
