A fresh (yet familiar) Alien game is set to land on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 as it transitions from VR and launches a two-part narrative in grand style.

The expansive universe of Alien games has seen more flops than successes, but that doesn't deter die-hard franchise fans from seizing the opportunity to try out a new instalment. After all, the world dominated by the near omnipotent Weyland-Yutani Corporation is brimming with untold stories, and its intriguing twists and turns provide ample opportunities to immerse players directly into the dystopia. Plus, blasting Xenomorphs to smithereens is a great time.

A new title is en route, but surprisingly, many Alien enthusiasts haven't seen it coming – because it's already out there. Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition is making its debut on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 after a stint as a VR-exclusive title that places you in the shoes of Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, battling for survival against a Xenomorph Incursion.

It's a surprise for many potential players, but it has plenty to offer, even if currently, this version of the game serves as the first half of a two-part story.

The second instalment of Alien: Rogue Incursion is still in development for VR, and by extension, for players on other platforms as well. This version aims to address some of the technical issues that plagued the VR-exclusive original title, allowing players to dive straight into the action.

The release date for Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition is set for Tuesday, September 30 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST. The game's Steam page has revealed the release date, while its SteamDB page has documented the exact release time.

There's a lot of potential for Alien: Rogue Incursion to break free from the shadow of VR titles that are often overlooked by the broader gaming community. We're all for it, as there's no scenario in which we'd pass up the chance to engage with the Alien franchise. Unless it's Colonial Marines. We don't want to talk about that.
