Brittany Bland's unconventional lifestyle has certainly turned heads worldwide. Ditching deodorant, shampoo, and even toothpaste, Brittany claims she's enjoying The mother of three embraced a natural way of living four years ago, and despite some raised eyebrows over her choices, she insists it's all about what suits her
"This isn't just a lifestyle - it's survival," Brittany asserts. "I'm not making medical claims. I'm sharing what worked for me after a decade of suffering." She explains how chronic illness devastated her finances, with her spending vast sums seeking solutions. Brittany claims to show others that there are alternative paths to wellness.
Once a nurse, now a holistic practitioner, Brittany has turned her back on everything from fluoride toothpaste to conventional healthcare. "My hair isn't greasy. I don't stink. And I've healed cavities without a dentist," declares the 41 year old.
She believes in healing from within and stands by her methods. "I've healed myself from the inside out. My teeth, my hair, my health. This is my truth - and I smell just fine, thanks."
Married for 24 years and a mother to three children, aged 24, 21, and 14, who are "non-vax" and homeschooled, Brittany's journey to holistic living started after her health deteriorated in 2015. she faced misdiagnoses and ineffective treatments as she was shuttled between medical specialists.
"They wanted to do major surgeries on my hip and that wasn't even the problem," she reveals. "My body was shutting down, and nobody was listening."
It was only in 2018, after finally consulting a pain management doctor, that she received her first real diagnosis. "He ordered an MRI straight away. I had tumours on my spine and ruptured discs. I had emergency back surgery two days later."
But the ordeal didn't end there. Four months later, her appendix burst. She remained ill, still in pain - and still seeking answers.
"A friend who's a nurse saved me from being butchered by a local neurosurgeon who'd left a trail of patients in worse shape. She referred me to a specialist in Columbus. He was livid. He said I should've had imaging years ago."

In 2021, Brittany underwent a second emergency back surgery and had a metal cage inserted into her spine. Yet, her symptoms continued. It was only when she consulted a geneticist in 2023 that everything fell into place.
"I was finally diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and MTHFR gene mutation. Suddenly, my entire life of sickness and pain clicked into place," she shares.
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a rare genetic connective tissue disorder, often referred to as the "zebra disease" due to its broad spectrum of hidden symptoms affecting every organ. Brittany discloses that one of her children also tested positive for the condition.
By this point, her trust in Western medicine had completely evaporated.
"I saw the system from both sides, as a nurse and as a patient, and I was done," she reveals. "It wasn't about healing anymore. It was about profit. Doctors were pillaging my insurance while I lay there in agony."
After dedicating 22 years to nursing, she hung up her scrubs in 2022 and embarked on a journey to become a holistic practitioner, continuing the legacy of her late aunt, who was a nurse and the founder of a home health care agency.
"She passed away unexpectedly, and we had to close the business," Brittany shares. "But I knew I had to keep helping people. Work has to be meaningful for me. It's not just a job."
Brittany has since completely rewritten the rules of personal care. She crafts her own magnesium-based deodorant, which she claims naturally neutralises odour.
"Body odour is from toxins," she explains. "If you're magnesium deficient you'll stink. But I don't. I take chlorophyll, too. Between that and detoxing properly, I don't need store-bought deodorant."
For dental hygiene, she swears by her homemade tooth powder. "My mouth was a disaster in 2020. I was getting bridges, root canals, teeth breaking left and right, even while doing everything the dentist said. But once I switched to my own routine? Game changer. No plaque, no cavities, no dental work since. My dentist was stunned."
She even began Invisalign treatment last year. "I couldn't wear metal braces because my teeth were so fragile. But now my mouth is strong enough, thanks to what I'm doing."
Her approach to hair care is equally unconventional. "No shampoo. No conditioner. I use baking soda and vinegar maybe every few months. That's it. My hair's healthier now than it's ever been. Shampoo is full of chemicals and actually causes greasy build-up. Once you stop, your scalp regulates itself."
Despite the doubts of others, Brittany from Lucas, Ohio, remains steadfast in her beliefs. She has garnered a following after launching a TikTok account to promote her company, Holy Holistics.
"I just wanted to draw some attention to my new company," she chuckles. "Now I'm a full-on UGC content creator and affiliate. I didn't plan this, but perhaps it was destined to happen. Maybe this is how I help people now."
