Morrisons selling hot 'jam' and 'custard' drinks and shoppers are loving them

Supermarkets are constantly coming out with new creations that give shoppers something fresh and exciting to try. However, some Morrisons shoppers are divided over the latest hot drink creations.

Posting on Facebook, the New Foods UK page shared that the supermarket has released some new teas for a limited time. Boxes of Jam Doughnut Tea Bags and Custard Creams Tea Bags are on sale for £1.75 each. Instead of having these sweet treats on the side of your classic hot drink, the tea itself is flavoured to taste 'just like' having either a jam doughnut or a custard cream.

The frequent supermarket shopper showed both packs that contain 40 tea bags and cost £1.75 each (according to the Morrisons website). They wrote: "New flavoured tea bags spotted at Morrisons."

People flocked to the comments with their thoughts on the new creation that is hitting shelves across the UK. One said: "The custard cream ones are amazing. Tried them today and they taste just like the real thing."

Another wrote: "Jam sounds delicious!" A third person put: "They sound tasty. Reminds me of the biscuit tea."

However, not all shoppers were 100% convinced by the flavours being turned into tea. One more said: "I went from ooh to errm to urgh! It's a no from me!"

Someone else out: "I don’t know how I feel about this. I love a brew after I dunk [a biscuit] in it, but do I want the whole brew flavoured?" Another joked: "If they aren't in stock, will my delivery be substituted with a pack of biscuits or doughnuts instead?"

Between those who were divided over the flavours being added to tea bags, others were pitching their own ideas to Morrisons. One suggested: "I thought they were boxes of cereal. Could we have cereal in these flavours please?"

Someone else responded: "Mini custard cream cereal like cookie crisp would be so good!" A third wrote: "OMG! Yes! Somebody needs to do this!" Someone else replied: "I thought it was cereal too! Absolutely gutted when I realised it was tea bags."

In other supermarket news, shoppers have been given the dates to take note of if they want to save some money during the major toy sales happening in their local Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl stores. For some, it may still be too early to mention Christmas, whilst others will be wanting to spread the cost - and deals with up to 50% off certain big name toys won't last forever.
