Other people also picked up on the interaction, with one social media user writing: "Look how Amorim speeds up to catch up with Cunha and pats him on the head. You can tell he wants him so badly."

Another insisted that versatile forward was nailed on to be joining, saying: "He is replacing Alejandro Garnacho in our starting line-up next season."

Cunha has established himself as a pivotal player for Wolves during his time at Molineux and was heavily linked with a move away in January before signing a new contract. While a move for Cunha could be on Amorim's agenda soon, he first had to front up after another poor result. When he was asked if it was once again a case of one step forward two steps back for United after their thrilling triumph in the quarter-finals in midweek, he responded: "This season is going to end like this so we need to take the positives and work on what we need to improve.
