Ike Turner Jr., the adopted son of music icon Tina Turner, has died at a hospital in Los Angeles at the age of 67. The news was confirmed by Tina’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, who described his years of health struggles.
“He had suffered from kidney failure after years of ill health,” she told, adding that he had been managing heart problems for many years prior to his death.

Ike Jr. endured significant personal loss throughout his life. He lost his father, Ike Turner Sr., in 2007, and more recently, he faced the death of his adoptive mother, Tina Turner, in 2023. Friends and family say he carried these losses quietly, continuing to live life on his own terms while navigating chronic health issues.
Born to Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Turner Jr. was adopted by Tina Turner early in life, growing up amidst the whirlwind of her music career.
After Tina’s split from Ike Sr., Ike Jr. briefly worked as her sound engineer, though the partnership was short-lived. One of four children tied to Tina and Ike’s iconic legacy, he largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years but remained connected to his parents’ enduring influence.
While not a public figure in the way his parents were, Ike Jr.’s life was tied to the Turner legacy, and his death has been noted for the quiet resilience he maintained despite the pressures of fame surrounding him.
It comes after his mother, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tina died on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. The iconic singer, whose career spanned over six decades, died peacefully at her home in Switzerland surrounded by family.
Her death was attributed to natural causes, following years of declining health and a battle with multiple ailments.
Turner had faced numerous health challenges in the years leading up to her death. She suffered a series of strokes, kidney failure, and battled cancer, all of which contributed to her fragile condition.
In 2013, she underwent a kidney transplant, which extended her life but did not halt her ongoing health struggles. Despite these issues, Tina remained active in her later years, sharing her wisdom and reflecting on a life marked by resilience and extraordinary talent.
Born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, Turner rose to global fame in the 1960s as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner.
Following her tumultuous marriage to Ike Turner, she embarked on a solo career that cemented her as one of music’s most influential figures. Her death marked the end of an era for rock and soul music, leaving a legacy celebrated by fans worldwide.
