viewers were annoyed to see the stars discussing American politics on telly tonight. In one segment of the reality show, the stars were shown clips of current US President talking about his desire to annex Greenland.
Trump has recently been warned by Danish foreign minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen that "These repeated statements with a vision or ambition to control Greenland are in no way sustainable". This comes after the President said that the US gaining control of Greenland is an "absolute necessity" for international security, adding: "I think we'll get it." Gogglebox stars reacted strongly to the video, calling Trump a "d***head" and saying "you just don't know what's going to come out of his mouth next".
One of the Plummer brothers pointed out that Trump could potentially cause a war if he is determined to pursue this course of action, adding: "If Greenland belongs to Denmark - what's Trump saying? What's he prepared to do?"

But viewers were annoyed that politics was a topic of discussion on the usually light hearted programme. One person voiced their views that the subject should be avoided on Gogglebox altogether, explaining: "It's just going to alienate lots of people. Keep politics off the show please !"
Another complained: "Gogglebox is by far the best show on TV but please leave politics alone. This bunch of thick lefties haven’t got a clue!!"
Someone else pointed out that UK history is full of colonisation, arguing that Brits cannot claim a moral high ground when it comes to seizing control of another country.
However, one Gogglebox fan said the naysayers were only "triggered" because the Gogglebox stars "cannot stand Trump".
JD Vance recently faced a frosty reception in Greenland as he visited the country shortly after Trump expressed his intentions to annex the territory. Danish politicians declined to meet the Vice President when he touched down at Pituffik, and a government source in Copenhagen went as far as saying: "It’s safe to say we would rather not have him [Vance] in Greenland."
Lars Løkke Rasmussen explained the reasoning behind Vance not being met by Danish representatives, saying: "This is about an American vice-president who is going to visit his own military installation in Greenland. It has nothing to do with us."
Danish defence minister Troels Lund Poulsen said Trump was going "too far" with his comments about Greenland, slamming the President for showing a "lack of respect for the fact that it is the people of Greenland who determine Greenland’s future".
US politics aside, Gogglebox stars were also shown clips of Adolescence, Bad Dog Academy, Tribe with Bruce Parry, Million Dollar Secret, and Tempting Fortune on tonight's episode of the show.
