Freddy Brazier bravely reveals he was sectioned after 'tough' struggle

Freddy Brazier has bravely opened up about being sectioned after undergoing a "tough" personal journey.

Jeff Brazier's youngest son, 20, has spoken out about his struggle with addiction, revealing that he has suffered from manic episodes.

"I've been smoking since I was 12," he said. "I've been to rehab, I've been sectioned, I've had manic episodes, I've been sectioned. There's been a real journey and it's been a tough one."

Freddy also addressed his relationship with both his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden and dad Jeff, offering more of an insight into the struggles he's faced. He further shared that he feared for his late mum Jade Goody's mum if he didn't prioritise his relationship with her over that with his dad.

"I feel like if I didn't prioritise the relationship with my mum's mum Jackiey... I was scared that if I wasn't [around her], she'd kill herself," he said. "And I had that in my head for so long to the point where I pushed my dad away and I was at my nan's for months, go on mad ones..."

Freddy and Jeff's relationship has undergone some tough challenges over the last year, though it appears that the father and son duo are now stronger than ever. Just days ago, Freddy shared a sweet post about watching his dad perform on stage.

The aspiring model posted a montage of photos on Instagram after seeing Jeff Brazier in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.

In his caption, Freddy praised his dad’s stage debut, writing: "I’ve now been to watch 101 Dalmatians three times. Some would say Fred you got a lot of time on your hands don’t ya? Well yes I do got too much time on my hands actually!

"But I just love watching my Dad at work and having fun and smiling, it makes me smile. I’ve Loved watching my Dad and the rest of the cast in the show as has everyone that I’ve gone with or spoke to. What a great show if you haven’t watched it you’ve got till the 30th so hurry up!!"

Earlier this year, Freddy moved out of the family home to live with his nan, sparking concern from his dad Jeff after Freddy was pictured smoking and spending more time with Jackiey.

Freddy also revealed in June that he planned to attend rehab in Spain as he struggled with his addiction to smoking. He previously admitted: "I’ve been smoking from the age of 12 and it’s time to stop. It was a bad coping mechanism that turned into an addiction – something I relied on and something that made me feel sane and somewhat OK."

He added that he wanted to be "clean" in order to repair relationships within his family, particularly with Jeff and Jackiey, saying: "I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father."

Freddy later decided against rehab and decided on a 'boys holiday' instead.
