Kushinagar: Police in Kushinagar, UP has busted a big international racket of smuggling fake notes. But the surprising thing is that the person running this racket was not a professional criminal but a leader of UP's second largest party, the Samajwadi Party. According to the police, Rafi Khan alias Bablu, the national secretary of Samajwadi Party's student organization Lohia Vahini, is the ring leader of this gang. Not only this, among the total 10 accused arrested, Naushad Khan, the vice-president of the cultural cell of SP, is also included. It is said that due to their political influence and relations across the border in Nepal, these two were doing this business of fake notes with their associates. But after being caught by the police, when these accused were presented in front of the media, many of them had bandages on their legs and due to being unable to walk, they had to be brought in a wheel chair. Obviously, they were taken good care of during interrogation in police custody.

Both India and Nepal were being cheated

However, the initial investigation by the police has revealed that this gang used to make fake notes with the help of scanner and printer. The interesting thing is that this gang used to print fake currency of both India and Nepal in this way and then send it to its agents across the border through its network. After this, these fake notes gradually came into the general circulation of currency and reached the pockets of common people through traders. The notes that reached the banks were destroyed, but the notes that went from one hand to another remained in circulation and continuously damaged the country's economy. The police claim that this entire business of fake notes was running under the patronage of SP's Lohia Vahini leader Rafiq Khan alias Bablu.

There was a strong network in Nepal across the border

Kushinagar SP Santosh Mishra said that the main accused Rafi Khan has a strong presence in the border areas of Nepal, UP and Bihar and using this he had spread the business of fake notes in both India and Nepal. The ten arrested accused have been identified as Niazuddin alias Munna, Naushad Khan, Siraj Hashmi, Parvez Ilahi alias Kausar Afridi, Mohammad Rafiq alias Bablu Khan, Sheikh Jamaluddin, Rehan Khan alias Saddam, Aurangzeb, Mohammad Rafi and Hashim Khan. Apart from these, UP Police is still searching for four people including Jitendra Yadav, a resident of Siwan in Bihar, Manish Kumar of Gopalganj and Kamruddin.
