New Delhi, July 01: Jailed gangster Neeraj Bawana was seen limping and surrounded by heavy security as he was taken to a Delhi hospital on Tuesday to visit his critically ill wife. A video of his hospital visit is now going viral on social media, showing the gangster walking slowly with a limp while being escorted by armed personnel.

Court Allows Hospital Visit for Wife's Surgery

The Delhi High Court granted custody parole to Neeraj Bawana so that he could meet his wife and give consent for her urgent surgery. His wife is admitted in the ICU at Mehta Hospital, located in Pandav Nagar in East Delhi.

The parole was given for July 1 from 10 am to 4 pm under tight conditions. The court directed that he should only meet his wife and the attending doctor. The court also ordered that he must not talk to anyone else during his hospital visit.

Tight Security Due to Gang War Risk

Neeraj Bawana is considered a high-risk prisoner. He has been in jail since 2015 in connection with the murder of a rival gang member inside a jail van. The prosecution told the court that there is a fear of a gang war in Delhi and another person has already been killed. Therefore, full security was arranged during his parole to avoid any threat to public safety or his own life.

Seen Limping in Viral Video

In the video, Bawana appears to be in pain or discomfort as he walks with a noticeable limp, closely guarded by a large number of security personnel. The video shows the gangster in a rare moment of weakness, far from his usual deadly image.

Legal Battle and Background

Earlier, Bawana had asked for interim bail for six weeks to take care of his wife. But the court denied regular bail, citing his criminal background and the 28 cases filed against him. His lawyers then requested custody parole for just one day, explaining that no one else could be present to give consent for the surgery.

Bawana has been in jail for nearly 10 years and his lawyers argued that the trial has been delayed too long. They also said his wife has suffered emotionally during his long imprisonment and needs his support at this critical time.

The court has asked the authorities to ensure full safety during the parole period. The case will continue to be heard, but the custody parole was granted for just one day to handle this emergency medical situation.
