Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As sowing progresses in the ongoing Kharif season, Collector Asheesh Singh has emphasised the need for timely availability of quality agricultural inputs to farmers across the district.
Chairing a review meeting on Monday with officials from agriculture and allied departments, Collector Singh directed the Agriculture Department to ensure that farmers receive high-quality seeds, standard fertilizers, and necessary resources without delay.
He also underscored the importance of preventing the sale of substandard products that could jeopardise crop yields.
The meeting was attended by District Panchayat CEO Siddharth Jain, Deputy Director of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development C.L. Kevada, ATMA Project Director Sharli Thomas, and officials from the Horticulture Department, Mandi Board, and Animal Husbandry, among others.

Soybean has already been sown in 2.10 lakh hectares out of the planned 2.14 lakh hectares.
He directed that a proposal be prepared and submitted to make Laxmibai Nagar Krishi Mandi a model market. Collector Singh said that arrangements should be made to ensure that farmers get high quality seeds and standard fertilisers and that substandard fertilisers are not sold in the district.
Additionally, he stressed High quality animals feed be made available to cattle farmers to enhance milk production and providing better aquaculture facilities in the region.
