Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee responded to Indian track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra's verdict on him. With Chopra claiming that Lee is one cricketer who he thinks could have been sensational in javelin throw, the retired fast bowler revealed that he did some of it during his school days.

Chopra, who has accomplished several feats in javelin throw for India, including winning an OIympic gold, picked Lee as one cricketer who could have been good at the sport. During an interaction with Jio Star, the 27-year-old had said:

"I have heard that Brett Lee was a javelin thrower. I think he could throw the javelin well, especially when he was in his peak years."

Lee replied to a news outlet on X and wrote:

"I did throw the javelin back at my schooling days, but nowhere near what Neeraj does & continues to do. Very tough on the elbow. I have however admired what this fine athlete can do and wish him well."

"I would like to try javelin with Jasprit Bumrah too" - Neeraj Chopra

Chopra also expressed his desire to learn some bowling skills from Indian ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, saying"

"I would like to try javelin with Jasprit Bumrah too, and hope he teaches me some bowling skills. While bowling and javelin are both throws, they are very different. I would like to learn from Bumrah."

Having won consecutive titles at Paris Diamond League and Ostrava Golden Spike, the youngster is now gearing up for Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, a standalone competition named after him. It will take place on July 5, Saturday.
