Indian music, especially Bollywood songs, has been resonating on the radio and in homes in Pakistan for a long time. Indian songs were a major source of entertainment for the people there, but the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir has again increased the tension between India and Pakistan. Amidst this tension, Pakistan has decided to completely remove Indian songs from its radio stations.

Ban on Indian songs in Pakistan
The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) announced that all FM radio stations across the country will stop playing Indian songs with immediate effect. According to PTI, PBA General Secretary Shakeel Masood has confirmed this decision. Pakistan's Information Minister Ata Tarar praised this move and called it a strong message of unity. He said, "This patriotic step of PBA is commendable. It reflects the sentiments of the entire country. We are all united to promote national unity and values in difficult times."
Indian government taking strict action.
This decision comes a few days after a major step taken by India. After the Pahalgam attack, India took swift action not only at the diplomatic level but also in the field of media. The Indian government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including big names like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News and Geo News.

Instagram accounts of Pakistani stars also banned
The ban was not limited to YouTube channels. Indian users recently noticed that the Instagram accounts of many Pakistani stars are not visible in India. Profiles of popular stars like Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan are now 'unavailable' to Indian viewers. Apart from this, the account of actor and singer Ali Zafar is also reported to be banned in India.
