Neela Mediatech, the digital venture of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah ( TMKOC) producer Asit Kumarr Modi, is considering a larger funding round over the next 18–24 months. The company plans to raise Rs 100–150 crore in the coming years as part of its broader strategic roadmap.
“At this stage, we are mindful about equity dilution, as we believe substantial value will be unlocked once we achieve a certain scale. A larger round of funding and accordingly, greater equity participation is likely to be considered 18 to 24 months from now,” said Harjeet Chhabra, CEO, Neela Mediatech.
“We are particularly keen to engage with investors, those who can commit Rs 100–150 crore over the next few years.”
Founded by Modi, the creator of TMKOC and Founder of Neela Film Productions, Neela Mediatech is currently expanding its footprint across gaming, animation, and educational technology.
To support initial growth, the company is raising Rs 25–40 crore in the first year. In addition, Modi is infusing Rs 25 crore into the venture.
While the company ramps up its digital efforts, production of the original TMKOC TV show remains steady, with 26 episodes delivered monthly. “We have focused on creative
story ideas beyond characters and without sensationalism, which has helped retain audience interest across generations,” Modi said.
Since its launch in 2008, TMKOC has become one of India’s longest-running and most-watched comedy series, with over 4,300 episodes.
