Is Darshan being haunted by murdered fan? Kannada actor allegedly screams in fear in jail

Send Push
Jailed Kannada actor Darshan is reportedly experiencing distressing hauntings by the spirit of his murdered fan, Renukaswamy, while serving time in Ballary prison. Media reports suggest that sources from the facility indicate that Darshan has confided in prison officials about the troubling visions he encounters during his sleep, causing him considerable fear and sleepless nights.

Insiders report that Darshan, who has been in solitary confinement, is struggling to cope with the situation. He has been heard shouting and screaming in the early hours, indicating his psychological distress. “He feels overwhelmed and isolated, which makes it hard for him to find peace,” a source mentioned.

In light of these troubling reports, Darshan's wife, Vijayalaxmi, has turned to spiritual measures for her husband's well-being, organizing special prayers at a temple in hopes of easing his fears.

Darshan's Legal Fight for Bail

Darshan's legal team is preparing to present a bail petition on Friday, during which they plan to request a transfer back to Bengaluru Central Prison if his judicial custody is extended. The actor was moved to Ballary following allegations of receiving luxurious treatment while incarcerated in Bengaluru. His transfer to Ballary prison has resulted in strict conditions, where he has been confined to a small cell with no access to others. Authorities have rejected his requests for additional privileges, granting only those recommended by the court.

In addition to the haunting experiences, Darshan is reportedly dealing with severe back pain. An orthopedic surgeon who visited him in prison suggested further medical evaluation and hinted at the possibility of surgery. “He needs proper medical care, and transferring back to Bengaluru would enable him to receive the treatment he requires,” his lawyer is expected to argue in court.

Darshan's Court Hearing

The 57th City Civil and Sessions Court will hear Darshan's bail plea on Friday, with senior counsel Sunil representing him. Meanwhile, the prosecution has raised objections to granting bail, citing ongoing concerns regarding his case. The hearing, initially scheduled for September 30, was postponed to October 4 to allow the defense more time to prepare.
