Kannada actor Darshan, known for his prominent roles in Kannada cinema, has been admitted to a private hospital in Kengeri, Bengaluru. The actor, who was recently granted interim bail on medical grounds by the Karnataka High Court, reportedly sought treatment for severe back and leg pain. His wife, Vijayalakshmi, accompanied him to the hospital on Friday, where a team of doctors, led by Dr. Naveen Appaji Gowda, is assessing his condition.
Darshan Admitted for Severe Back and Leg Pain
According to the Times of India, Dr. Gowda explained to reporters, “His left leg is weak. We are currently evaluating his symptoms to determine the appropriate course of action. We haven't started any specific investigations yet; however, examinations are underway, and further tests have been ordered.” According to Dr. Gowda, Darshan will undergo a series of medical tests, including an MRI, X-ray, and blood tests, to establish a precise diagnosis.
The hospital’s medical team encountered a delay in Darshan’s diagnosis due to the lack of his previous MRI films and test reports. “Since we did not receive his previous MRI results, we have to perform the scan again. The next steps will depend on these reports, which should be available within 24 to 48 hours,” Dr. Gowda noted. He mentioned that after analyzing the results, the team would decide if surgery or physiotherapy would best address his condition.
Legal Troubles Amid Health Challenges
The 46-year-old actor’s legal troubles continue amid his health challenges. Darshan and fellow actor Pavithra Gowda are under investigation for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a 33-year-old man named Renukaswamy. The Karnataka High Court had granted Darshan a six-week interim bail on October 30, allowing him to receive medical treatment outside Ballari Central Prison, where he had been held. The court granted the bail after medical reports submitted in a sealed cover detailed Darshan’s deteriorating health condition, including numbness in his legs.
Following his release, Darshan visited his wife’s home in Hosakere village, Tumukuru. The news of his visit drew crowds of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the star. In an effort to control the gathering, Darshan’s teenage son, Vineesh, addressed the fans, requesting that they disperse in accordance with a gag order issued by the court.
Despite this, fans once again gathered outside the hospital in Kengeri, hoping for updates on the actor’s health.
