The notices, dated September 18, 2025, have been issued by the Assistant Commissioner (ST).

The company informed the exchanges that the notices are based on GST Annual Returns and financial statements for three financial years. The breakup of the amount indicated in the notices is ₹184.55 crore for FY 2021-22, ₹207.26 crore for FY 2022-23, and ₹194.62 crore for FY 2023-24.

BHEL clarified that as the matter is at the show cause notice stage, the expected financial implications cannot be quantified until an order is issued. The company noted that “the issues raised are generic in nature and seem to be not tenable.”

BHEL said it is evaluating the issues raised and will respond suitably to the GST authorities.
