Archana Puran Singh has shared many glimpses of her palatial home on Madh Island with viewers. In the latest vlog, the ‘ Great Indian Kapil Show’ judge and her husband, actor Parmeet Sethi, revealed there was a time they struggled to afford the house and decided to delay buying it till the real estate prices came down.
“This house was too expensive when we saw it. Then we waited for some time. We forgot about it then. And then, the property prices dropped, and then, I said we have to buy it,” she reminisced.
Parmeet revealed he disagreed vehemently with her over this decision to buy two homes. “Divorce ho jayega humara. (We will get divorced). We have one bungalow; it’s more than enough. Any more, we will struggle to maintain it,” he said.
However, they did end up buying two bungalows.
Archana revealed that Parmeet had always preferred living in apartments, but despite their contrasting preferences, they found a balance that suited both of them. She recalled how, when their children were young, the family had moved to a bungalow in Madh Island.
The most fascinating part of that phase, she shared, was that their sons used to travel to school by boat—something that often surprised their teachers and friends. Today, Archana continues to reside in their spacious Madh Island home with her husband, Parmeet, and their two sons, Ayushmaan and Aaryamann.
The boys were six and nine when they shifted to their new home.
Now that Aaryamann is engaged to actress Yogita Bihani, the family is preparing for a new chapter. The young couple plans to move into another section of the same house, which is currently being renovated to suit their tastes and lifestyle. It marks a significant milestone for the family as they adjust to the upcoming changes while keeping their bond close-knit.
In a conversation with SCREEN, Parmeet spoke openly about his son’s engagement and their decision to start living together. He expressed that both he and Archana have always been open-minded and respectful of their children’s choices. Unlike traditional or conservative parents, they believe in giving their sons the freedom to make their own decisions.
Parmeet emphasized that while the wedding is not happening anytime soon, there’s no strict timeline either. He laughed as he mentioned that their children are spontaneous, and if they suddenly decide to go ahead with the marriage, he and Archana would happily support them without hesitation.
In the rest of the vlog, Ayushmann explained how they would be renovating the house. Over breakfast, Parmeet recalled how he gave Archana the sweetest surprise when the house was being built. He recalled how he secretly got their bedroom ready and invited all of her family members. Archana got a pleasant shock when she found her entire clan in the room, wishing her a happy birthday.
Reacting to the anecdote, Aaryamaan quipped, “Dad was the original romance ninja guys.”
