Patna (Bihar) [India], September 19 (ANI): BJP legislator Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a scathing attack against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his fresh "vote theft" allegations and claimed that he does not prepare before speaking in public and spreads lies.
The BJP leader slammed Rahul Gandhi for questioning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the alleged deletion of over 6000 voters in Karnataka's Aland. He added that Gandhi had made accusations regarding the 2023 Assembly elections while Kumar was appointed as the CEC in February 2025.
Addressing reporters, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "What has happened to Rahul Gandhi? How much will he lie? You are deceiving the democracy. I have previously said that Rahul Gandhi never does his homework."
"Yesterday, he addressed a press conference where he showed the picture of the Chief Election Commissioner. Election Commission will defend itself, but you are showing the picture of Gyanesh Kumar, who recently became the Election Commissioner, and you are blaming him for the 2023 polls," he said

Further, BJP MP Prasad said that the Congress candidate won the Aland seat, and Rahul Gandhi is putting his party leader in jeopardy.
"He talked about the Aland constituency, where the BJP won (elections) till 2018 but lost in 2023, while Congress won by 248 votes. Rahul Gandhi, you are bringing trouble for your own candidate. Have you lost all sense of purpose and propriety?" he said.

Reiterating the Election Commission's rebuttal, he said that the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which is investigating the alleged voter deletion, comes under the purview of the Karnataka government.
He told reporters, "The Election Commission has also said that an FIR was lodged in 2023 against the attempt to delete voters. From 2023, Congress is in power in Karnataka, and CID is under them. Lying, fake allegations and presenting misleading facts in the nature of Rahul Gandhi. He has lowered the dignity of the post of the Leader of the Opposition."
Earlier today, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accused Gandhi of echoing "Pakistan's narrative". He alleged that his remarks were often used by "anti-India" groups across the border.
The Union Minister asserted that the Congress MP pattern had been consistent in recent years, raising concerns over the impact of his statements on national discourse.
While addressing reporters in Delhi, the Union Minister said, "Whatever narratives Pakistan creates, the same narrative is propounded by Rahul Gandhi and his company here in India. So we have realised in the last few years that whatever Rahul Gandhi and his left group speak about and try to create a narrative in India, the same thing is found to be used by the anti-Indian groups and the elements in Pakistan. So that similarity we have found over the years."
On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi alleged an attempt to delete over 6000 votes in Karnataka's Aland.
"In Aland, Karnataka, 6018 votes, somebody tried to delete these votes. We don't know the total number of votes deleted in the 2023 elections, but somebody got caught. It was caught, by most crimes, by coincidence. What happened was that the Booth Level officer noticed that her uncle's vote had been deleted. When she checked, she saw that her neighbour had deleted the vote," Rahul Gandhi said during a press conference. (ANI)
