Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 15 (ANI): Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday said that the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and the NCP will work together for the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for seven newly appointed members, Bawankule emphasised that the model code of conduct is now in effect.
"Mahayuti is fully prepared for the elections. We will go to the forefront. The formula of our three parties is also certain. It will come out in two-three days. Mahayuti will go to the people; we will give our manifesto to them," he said.
"PM Modi's government is in power for the next 5 years, and if the Mahayuti government is formed in Maharashtra, then the double-engine government can do good to the people and can take Maharashtra towards development. If even ONE vote goes to Congress, then it will create hindrance in development," the BJP state president said.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining a respectful campaign, saying, "We have decided that during the term of the model code, all parties will work together and not engage in any behaviour that relates to personal life or social life."
He further stated that there should be "no accusations on anyone's personal life, and there should be no personal remarks in this election." The focus, he asserted, should be on party ideologies and the work each party plans to undertake.

At the ceremony, Bawankhule said, "Look at the oath taken today by the 12 members of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, who were recommended by the government under the governor's quota. Out of these, seven members took their oath today, including Hemant Patil, Manisha Kayande from Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Babushrik Maharaj from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who is a religious leader of the Banjara community. Then there is Vikrant Patil from the BJP, and from the NCP, Pankaj Bhujbal, and a few others took their oaths, and we also congratulated them."
He added that five seats are yet to be filled and will soon be done from within the BJP, Shiv Sena, and the NCP after mutual consensus.
Bawankhule discussed the need for public support and said, "Public development is what the people will provide us, and we also will be their factor. I understand that we have the Modi government until 2029. If the next government comes, it should be a double-engine government that can provide development to Maharashtra's 14 crore citizens and can elevate Maharashtra to the status of the country. Therefore, we need a double-engine government in Maharashtra, and we will inform the public about this."
Mentioned plans for the future, he said "We will go to the public, request a loan of votes from them, and in the next five years, we will repay these loans honestly. The schemes we have initiated will continue over the next five years, and the Chief Minister's Majila scheme will also keep running. The waiver of electricity bills for farmers will also continue."
Bawankhule expressed confidence that the public is aware that if the Congress or the Maha Vikas Aghadi comes to power, all these schemes will be stopped.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said, "At least elections will begin now. People doubted whether or not the election would take place as it was pushed forward by a month... We will conclude seat-sharing talks this week."
Thorat said, "Just as the Election Commission held a press conference about the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections, look at that. The elections are about to start, and there was doubt about whether the elections would take place or not. They were pushed forward. There was political propaganda to be done with government funds, and they went ahead and postponed it by one month. The Maha Vikas Aghadi is ready for the elections, sir. We have made all preparations, and it will definitely happen within the week," (ANI)
