Devbhoomi Cultural Festival injects new energy into local economy and tourism: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], October 26 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh attended the Devbhoomi Cultural Festival 2025 held in Badrinath on Sunday. He said that the festival would inject new energy into the local economy and tourism.
CM Dhami also offered prayers at Badrinath Dham.
The event was jointly organised by the Indian Army and the Government of Uttarakhand. A large number of local residents and tourists gathered to witness the festival. Various stalls have been set up by villagers and local artisans, showcasing a vibrant display of cultural heritage, spirituality, and community participation.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "I am confident that this festival will not only provide an excellent platform to showcase the rich cultural traditions of our border region, but will also inject new energy into the local economy and tourism. It will also strengthen the cooperation between the army and local citizens...I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, the Tourism Department, and all the organisers who contributed to the successful organisation of this festival. Special effort is being made in border villages for their development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The road network is being strengthened. Trade and tourism have also received a boost."


On Saturday, CM Dhami approved the allocation of Rs 4.16 crore for the reconstruction and improvement of the Laloori-Ghiakoti-Kyarda Motor Road under the Dhanaulti Assembly constituency in Tehri Garhwal district.
Additionally, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 4.57 crore through the Uttarakhand Project Development and Construction Corporation Ltd. for the development of the Rankauchi Temple in Champawat, a release said.

The Chief Minister has also approved Rs 5 crore for the construction of a new drinking water project (including a new pipeline and overhead tank) at Police Lines, Race Course, Dehradun; Rs 51 crore for the construction of 120 Type-II quarters (Block-C) at the same location; and Rs 19 crore for the construction of a multi-storey building with 20 Type-3 and 20 Type-4 residential quarters at the Lok Seva Aayog's Bhagirath residential complex. In addition, Rs 54 crore has been sanctioned for 120 Type-II residential quarters at IRB Second Battalion, Dehradun, along with Rs 13.73 crore under the State Plan for the construction of multipurpose buildings (including electrification) at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun.(ANI)
