Where do you need permission to serve alcohol at a wedding? Know these rules immediately.

Everyone needs a license to sell alcohol in India. If someone is found selling alcohol without a license, action is taken against him. For this, a license has to be taken from the Excise Department.

In India, any person above 18 years of age can take a license to sell alcohol. For this, some rules made by the Excise Department have to be followed. And a fixed fee is paid. Then the license is obtained.

The state government allows only licensed people to sell alcohol in the state. For those who sell alcohol without a license, the Excise Department takes action against such people and imposes a heavy fine. Along with this, such people can also be sent to jail.

A license is needed not only to sell alcohol. In fact, if there is a wedding at your place and you want to arrange liquor for the guests at the wedding, then you cannot just bring bottles as per your wish.

You also need a license to serve liquor at a wedding. Many people do not know about this and they keep serving liquor at weddings without a license. In such a situation, if checking is done, then action can be taken against you.

You get a license for liquor and its use for one day, for which you have to go to the Excise Department and apply. That license is valid till 12 midnight of the next day for which you have taken the license.

If you are having a liquor party at home, then you have to get the license by paying a fee of Rs 500. On the other hand, if the wedding is taking place in a banquet hall or a pavilion built in a commercial place, then you have to pay Rs 10,000 to get the license to serve liquor.
