It is necessary to get this work done to continue free ration for crores of ration card holder families in the country. If this work is not done by this date, then free ration will not be available.
The central government runs many schemes for the people of the country. The government brings schemes keeping in mind the needs of people of different sections. Even today many people in the country are not able to arrange for two meals a day.
Crores of families in India take advantage of free ration and other facilities through ration card. Every month free ration is provided by the government on ration card. But now if you have not made the necessary update in your ration card, then the benefit may stop.
Under the National Food Security Act, free ration is given to poor people. For this, all the information in the ration card must be correct and updated. If this work is not done, the government has made it clear that ration may stop.
Now it has become mandatory to do e-KYC in ration card. KYC of all family members above the age of five years is necessary. If it is not completed, the ration card will be closed. Earlier the deadline was 30 June. It has been extended to 31 August later.
To complete e-KYC, first of all you have to go to the PDS portal of your state government. There you will see ration card services, e-services and other options on the homepage. You click on e-KYC and enter the ration card number and have to verify with Aadhaar.
For verification, it is necessary to update the mobile number in Aadhaar. After entering the OTP, your ration card will be updated and e-KYC will be completed. This will keep your card active and the facility of free ration will continue without interruption.
E-KYC is also necessary so that fake beneficiaries can be removed. This will ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the eligible people and no one can take wrong advantage. Therefore, if you want that ration and other benefits continue to be available without any hindrance, then complete the e-KYC of your ration card in time.
