Victoria's Secret makes runway return after 6 years and is full of jaw-dropping moments

Following a six-year hiatus and a major rebrand, hosted its new-look show, complete with a debut from 90s supermodel , her 22-year-old daughter Lila and its first ever trans Angel.

The show, which launched in 1995, was cancelled in 2019 to "evolve the marketing of Victoria's Secret", amid controversies around misogyny and body positivity. In response to criticism, the once-celebrated runway show returned, with bosses claiming it now celebrates "all women".

There were a few surprises to this year's iconic event, with all eyes on .

America's Next Top Model star Tyra Banks' voice introduced the show, announcing: "A brand new Victoria’s Secret fashion show, where women take the reins and the spotlight." In May 2020, Tyra was forced to address her 'toxic' behaviour on the model scouting show following an online backlash from fans who said she promoted body shaming in the past, apologising for her previous "insensitivity" towards women and their body image.

The show was then opened by Gigi Hadid, who walked the runway in pink angel wings, the show aired on Amazon Prime Video, coming straight from the Victoria's Secret flagship store in New York City. Gigi, 29, wore baby pink, her short blonde bob tucked behind her ears.

With return appearances from veterans Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima, new additions to the line up including Taylor Hill and Barbara Palvin. Taylor, 28, wore loose-fit pink pants, with a metallic bra and diamante wings, while Barbara wore a low-cut gown with solid, chrome wings.

Soundtracking the Tuesday night event was none other than Cher, who gave a headline performance, alongside Blackpink rapper Lisa and Popiano prodigy Tyla, making it the show's first ever all-female musical line-up.

A debut from 90s supermodel and cultural icon Kate Moss delighted fans, as the 50-year-old looked incredible opening the rock'n'roll themed section of the show, wearing black feather wings and a sheer black dress, over a cut-out bodysuit. Lila Moss, 22, completed the mother-daughter duo. Lila, who is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, is known for wearing her glucose monitors while walking high-end runways - a valuable asset for the brand's new inclusive mission.

Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio — Victoria's Secret's first trans model — owned the runway in a G-string and a fishnet skirt.

Following a break to recover from Lyme Disease, Gigi Hadid's sister Bella stunned the audience in a red lingerie set and billowing feather cloak. The show also gave 'plus-size' models Paloma Elsesser and Ashley Graham’s angel debuts.

In a 2023 statement, Victoria's Secret addressed their new direction, saying: "We’ve centred ourselves around what our customer wants and needs – making sure that they are proud to shop at Victoria’s Secret. We have moved from promoting an exclusionary view of what’s sexy, to celebrating all women throughout every phase of their lives."
