Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell made an emotional admission about dance partner Chris McCausland on Thursday's It Takes Two.
Over the weekend, Chris, 47, and Dianne, 35, performed a Tango set to KISS' Rock and Roll All Nite. However, despite the impressive performance, the duo found themselves nearly at the bottom of the leaderboard with 29 points.
Appearing on Thursday's It Takes Two, host Janette Manrara didn't hold back as she pointed out: "Chris, despite being both a ballroom fan and a KISS fan you ended up joint second from the bottom of the leaderboard!"
To which comedian Chris, who is the first ever blind contestant on the show, replied: "Alright, easy Janette! That's a bit..." with Janette quickly explaining: "I was gutted as I was so looking forward to it but the scores didn't reflect that!"
This prompted Chris to admit: "You know what, I've got no idea whether what I do is good or not I have to be told, don't I? So we did the Samba the week before, we were bottom, and that was hard, it was technical. The Tango, I think I carried a lot of pressure over but those first five shows we did, there was a lot of joy in them. There were a lot of moments, wow moments, we surprised people, we surprised ourselves.
"Then we've had two really technical weeks. The Tango, you can't even smile in it, you've got to look like you'd rather be doing anything else but the Tango! Joint second from the bottom? The competition is hard, I'm just a fella who sits on a stool for a living!"
Chris' dance partner, Dianne, was quick to make an emotional admission about the comedian as she admitted he's "so tough on himself".
Talking about how she picks him up when he's feeling deflated, Dianne said: "I just tell him how much he has improved from the start! I know people were probably more impressed from the beginning but I can tell everyone his technique and what we're doing in the dances has increased, it's increased dramatically, I've made the routines so much harder.
"I looked back today actually at the launch show his first dance, second dance, he has improved so so much. I keep telling him that I know the competition is getting tough but Chris has never danced before and we obviously do have difficulties, there are things that we are challenged with every single day in rehearsals.
"What he is doing is absolutely incredible and I need to say that to him every single day because he's so tough on himself"!
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night at 6:35pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
