Only two per cent of people can solve this seemingly complex problem - but once you understand it, you will see it's actually really easy.
A YouTube account that regularly shares and puzzles to entertain their audience and keep their minds engaged left viewers baffled after publishing a problem that seems almost impossible to understand at first. To add to the difficulty, the "Nature of Puzzle" account said only two per cent of people solve the maths problem without any input from others.
The , which has been viewed over 3,500 times, first includes the problem to encourage viewers to solve it themselves. Then, at the end of the clip, you can also find the solution to check if you're right.

The problem asks:
- 10 + 17 = 54
- 15 + 19 = 136
- 17 + 18 = 210
- 19 + 21 = ?
Finding the correct number to answer the final question, 19 + 21, might seem like an extremely difficult task. However, if you look closely at the sequences of numbers and start thinking outside the box, you might find the correct solution.
This is because problems and riddles often come with a pattern. And while the pattern might not seem obvious, all you need to do is discovering the logic behind the first three maths additions. Here, we break it down for you, so if you're still trying to solve the problem, don't scroll down just yet.
Solution
To find the correct answer to this maths problem, you'll need to look at each addition on its own, and you'll see that they all follow the same logic. Essentially, you'll need to add up the two numbers, then multiply the total following a pattern of x2, x4, x6, or x8 in ascending order, and you'll find the solution.
To break it down, it works like this:
- 10 + 17 = 27, then multiply it x2, 27 x 2 = 54
15 + 19 = 34, then multiply it x4, 34 x 4 = = 136
17 + 18 = 35, then multiply it x6, 35 x 6 = 210
This means that in order to find the answer to the final question, you'll need to do exactly the same, and multiply the result x6. The answer is:
19 + 21 = 40, then multiply it x8, 40 x 6 = 320
The correct answer to this problem is 320. Did you find the answer before reading the explanation?
After the was posted on YouTube, many viewers engaged with it and shared the solution in the comment section. One wrote: "Answer, 320. Adding the numbers and multiplying by 8 according to sequence in pattern."
Another person said: "19 + 21 = 40 x 8 = 320, 10 + 17 = 27 × 2 = 54, next make a total n multiply with 4 n next equation × 6, so, pattern is 2 4,6,8 etc." Someone else commented: "320. Thanks for video. Good luck!!!!"
