Nick Knowles vows to make Strictly Come Dancing return before 2024 season ends

DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles has confirmed he will return to before the end of the current season.

was one of the celebrity contestants on the 2024 season of - and was partnered with 34-year-old professional dancer Nick battled injuries during his time on the show - damaging his shoulder while fixing a car away from the set of the show, and later injuring his knee during a dress rehearsal jump.

But fans of Strictly could see Nick back on the dancefloor before the end of the year as he has ambitious plans to return to the ballroom to take part in a festive routine as part of the grand finale. There are still several weeks away before the 2024 season reaches a climax - and Nick plans to be there with bells on.

Taking to social media to update fans on his continued recovery, the carpentry expert shared photographs of himself sporting a number of muscle and joint support contractions that he had been fitted with. He remarked on X: "So got a new bicep support and knee brace. Look like Iron Man. Can’t wait to get fit again so I can continue dancing - I’m hoping to make it in time for the Xmas end of series shows. Wish me luck."

Fans were thrilled to see Nick tease a Strictly return - with many rushing to wish him a speedy recovery. One wrote in response: "As someone who works for a company that supplies the said bionic limbs, I know they will help you!! Wishing you luck for making the final!" While another highlighted the irony of his injury, writing: "How many years have you been on a building site... One pair of dancing shoes all goes tits up. Hope all goes well." This prompted Nick himself to reply, writing: "Exactly that" alongside a crying-with-laughter emoji.

Nick was voted off Strictly after losing a dance off against singer Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu in week four of the show. Following his exit, Nick told fans: "Well that’s the end of the road for me on @bbcstrictly. But after the injury last week, getting back on the dance floor felt like a win in itself!

"Gutted I couldn’t stay longer to bring the amazing dances super talented @lubamushtuk had planned to life, but it’s been a fantastic journey. Wishing the best of luck to all the competitors - they’re such a lovely bunch. It’s been a lot of fun, and a reminder that it’s never too late to try something new!"

He added at the time: "Thank you so much to everyone for all their support." Over the weekend, Olympian Sam Quek and her dance partner became the latest duo to get voted off the show after they lost a dance off against Gladiators star Montell Douglas and her dance partner Johannes Radebe.
