Netflix fans slam 'dumb move' as streamer to remove huge block of programmes - with just four remaining

Netflix has confirmed all but four interactive titles will be removed from the streaming service from December 1.

First launched in 2017, the platform’s Interactive Specials page lists 24 series and films with stories controlled by the viewer.

The venture began with Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale, which is reportedly already no longer available.

Arguably its most successful entry was the interactive science fiction film : Bandersnatch, an offshoot from the popular speculative thriller series.

Bandersnatch is one of the titles which will remain available, alongside Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs the Reverend, Ranveer vs Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs Wild.

Spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher said, per The Verge: “The served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.”

Fans have now been left divided by ’s decision to not only halt its interactive productions but remove most of them from the service altogether.

One of the titles particularly caught one Redditor’s eye, who commented: “You'd have thought they'd keep the one where The New Day are chased around a haunted mansion by The Undertaker for the synergy with the .”

To which another user replied: “That’s exactly what I was thinking. Kinda dumb that they would get rid of that one.”

And someone else said: “Especially with RAW moving to Netflix in a couple months.”

Another commenter questioned: “Has Netflix made a smart decision with their catalog in the last… idk decade?”

A number of the interactive children’s titles have proven favourites, with many subscribers expressing disappointment at the move.

“My kids loves the Jurassic park camp Cretaceous one,” one user wrote, to which another person replied: “They just released a new series too. I'm shocked that they would remove this.”

“Oh that Sucks, my son loves the boss baby one,” said another comment, and a final viewer wrote: “That sucks. My kid really liked those.”

While many agreed the interactive titles aren’t the best programming Netflix has to offer, the decision to remove them entirely has clearly proven controversial.

This move arrives in the wake of several cancellations by the streamer this year, including Kaos and Dead Boy Detectives, while teen drama Outer Banks has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
