MAFS star Charlie takes very public swipe at Eve as she breaks silence on honeymoon

Charlie Curtis has addressed her honeymoon on Married at First Sight UK (MAFS), after having threatened to quit the show in a tense scene with fellow bride Eve Reid.

The new series of the E4 show launched earlier this week, with Charlie, 30, and Eve, 31, among those paired up. They exchanged vows in the episode that aired on Tuesday and were then seen on their honeymoon the following night.

The pair headed to Mexico together and, despite having both enjoyed their wedding day, there was tension between them early on in the trip. Eve, who said she needed her own space, ended up staying in a separate room every night.

Since the episode aired, Charlie has shared various posts on Instagram about the experience. She has referenced the tense atmosphere and having been alone at times. Charlie wrote beside a laughing emoji in one post, which included photos of her on her own on the honeymoon: "On the plus side, Mexico was beautiful, every cloud and all that."

Whilst another photo showed an iguana by the side of a pool at a resort in the country, which she tagged in the post. Lettings operations co-ordinator Charlie, in an apparent dig towards bride Eve, teased in the caption of the post on Thursday: "Had this guy for company at least ..."

During the episode, Eve said that "everything was going good" on the honeymoon initially but that Charlie was "a bit much" at one point, asking if she was okay "over and over again". Eve said she told her to "chill out" but was met with a "temper". Eve said that she then got her own apartment.

Charlie wasn't impressed that Eve had spent the night away from her following their "slight disagreement". They later attempted to reconcile but there continued to be issues between the pair as they remained on the honeymoon.

On the final night, during yet another disagreement, Charlie said she felt that Eve has a tendency to "shut down" when confronted with her partner's feelings, which prompted Eve to get up from the table. She said: "Right, I'm not listening to this!" Eve then claimed that Charlie was "shouting" at her.

As Eve was seen walking away, Charlie said she wouldn't be continuing with the experience - which sees the couples live in an apartment upon returning to the UK. She said: "I'll be leaving the experiment. They'll be no moving into any apartment, nothing - goodbye! I'll just enjoy my evening - alone. Like I have done the whole f***ing honeymoon."

MAFS continues on E4 from 9pm on Monday. Previous episodes of the new series are available on demand.
