Lorraine Kelly admits 'I was horrible' as unexpected family member makes rare appearance

Send Push

Lorraine Kelly confessed "I was horrible" as her ITV talk show was "hijacked" in a bid to mark the TV star marking 40-years on screens.

Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, who are the Scottish hosts usual stand-in's when she is absent or on leave, took over hosting duties as they left Lorraine totally in the dark about on-goings and special guests.

Unbeknown to Lorraine, her younger brother Graham appeared on the screen behind her in the studio, leaving the presenter flabbergasted because he doesn't normally participate in TV appearances. The TV personality gasped and chuckled as she confessed "I was horrid to him".

She explained: "I was six years older than him and my mum will tell you, he was the most beautiful baby with the biggest blue eyes and cheeks you could nibble on. I think I probably did nibble on them and she was always getting stopped in the street."

"But because I was six years older and a princess, I was horrible to you."

It's been quite a year for the new grandma after welcoming her first grandchild and now celebrating a landmark four-decade-long career in the British television - and a special ITV documentary will also be aired in her honour - 40 unforgettable years.

On Wednesday 2nd October, Lorraine appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside hosts Susanna Reid and co-star Ed Balls to tease the upcoming show, confessing to her co-stars that she absolutely "no idea" about what was about to air.

She told them: "You know I come on here and tell you what is happening because I've got no idea." Susanna jested in reply: "Has your programme been hijacked?"

Lorraine responded: "Yes, it’s been hijacked by two very special women."
