ITV Coronation Street Joel Deering's killer 'revealed' - and it's not Kit Green

After suspecting Carla Connor of murder, Coronation Street viewers received their biggest clue yet on the murder of Joel Deering, with a shocking twist involving "bent copper" Kit Green. But another suspect has been pointed out.

The mysterious character portrayed by former star was introduced to viewers in May, 2024, as Bernie Winter's , whom she had given up for adoption.

After showing a clear disdain for rules, notably by planting incriminating evidence against Nathan Curtis, buying Joel Deering some undeserved time, viewers grew increasingly convinced that Kit, a detective, was not to be trusted - unlike the beloved DS Lisa Swain whose bond with Carla Connor .

But as this Friday's (November 1, 2024) trip to drew to a close, Kit was shown tampering with evidence linked to the investigation on Joel Deering's death - evidence that could point to him as the duty solicitor's real killer.

"Sooooo Kit has a red car… knew he had something to do with it..", another commented. "I said weeks ago that I reckon Kit was involved and tonight's episode has definitely made me think that I could be right with my wild theory", one final fan wrote. But just as another character is added on to , a new theory has the potential to debunk it all.

Over on Reddit, one viewer of the Manchester-based drama has suggested that 13-year-old Hope Stape, played by , could have committed the sinister deed. And the theory may not be as far-fetched as it seems.

"The only way this storyline will work is if it's Hope. Joel tried to manipulate and control Hope by sneaking her vapes, but then he ends up out of his depth with her and eventually, of course, dead", they theorised.

Hope was also the resident who found Lauren's necklace in Joel's car, returning it to him moments later, meaning she could bring another important to the puzzle against Joel. Months before his death, a theory suggesting that the teenager had emerged.

Moreover, regular Corrie watchers will know that murder is in Hope's blood as the daughter of serial killer John Stape. While she has not shied away from bringing trouble to her mother Fiz's doorstep, Hope also with her father's horrific track record - but two years later, could she have decided to act on her impulses?
