Gary Neville sends brutal message to Arsenal after Bukayo Saka injury update before Liverpool

Gary Neville has issued a blunt message to about their Premier League title aspirations ahead of Sunday's clash against Liverpool.

The will host the Merseyside club at the Emirates Stadium this weekend in a top-of-the-table clash in the side were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth in their previous league fixture last weekend, but did bounce back with a 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in midweek.

Arsenal are currentlyin the Premier League table and will have several players on the sidelines for the clash against Arne Slot's team. while there are also major doubts over the fitness of Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber -

William Saliba will also be another absentee for the fixture against Liverpool while he serves a suspension for the red card he received in the defeat to Bournemouth last week. Liverpool have injuries of their own, too, with Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Conor Bradley all likely to be unavailable to face the Gunners.

Neville has issued a message to Arsenal about their current injury concerns going into the clash against Liverpool. The Manchester United legend believes that injuries should not affect the attitude of the Gunners players when preparing for a key fixture in the title race.

"Every club has injuries, every club has players missing," said Neville on . "I accept that they might not like the idea as [Bukayo] Saka and [Martin] Odegaard are obviously very big players and Saliba is obviously out with the self-inflicted red card. But I'm not accepting any excuses ahead of Sunday.

"I'm expecting Arsenal, who finished above Liverpool last season, we're eight games in, to basically go out onto that pitch thinking they should win that game. That's what I'm expecting.

"They've got to change their mentality from a team that are coming second – and they're a really good side, they've made great strides – to a team that are going to win the league. They cannot do anything other than go and win that football match."

Neville added: "I cannot listen to excuses, I don’t want any excuses from Arsenal fans, I don’t want any excuses from Mikel Arteta.

"He’s built a squad there that should be able to compete over a season. Four or five players being missing is something that he would have expected or should have expected at a certain point."

"I’m sorry, I really am steadfast on this," Neville concluded. "They should have beaten Bournemouth with ten men and they should go and beat Liverpool on Sunday if they’re serious about winning the league."
