Ex-fiancée of Lana Del Rey's husband breaks her silence on their quickie wedding

The former fiancée of Lana Del Rey's new husband has expressed her shock at the speed of their marriage.

Summertime Sadness singer Lana - whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant - tied-the-knot with 49-year-old swamp tour guide and airboat captain Jeremy Dufrene in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, last Thursday. The marriage came less than a year after Jeremy split from his ex-fiancée Kelli Welsh, 46 - and just one month after the guide started dating 39-year-old Lana.

Now Kelli has shared her surprise at the speed of the marriage - as she claims she was engaged to wed Jeremy for 12 years before they split in October last year. However, Kelli has no ill will towards the new lovebirds and has endorsed the marriage.

Sharing her thoughts about the marriage, Kelli said: "I am in shock because we were engaged for 12 years, and he got married after one month. But I am happy for him. He is a very protective, hardworking, manly man. He needed to get out of his comfort zone. He was used to bayou life and being out on the swamp. He is deserving of this blessing."

Continuing her interview with the Daily Mail, she went on to say: "I will say that he really does look happy with her. And she does with him which is a good thing to see. It's not a fake happy – he truly is in love with her." And she added: "I care about him deeply as a friend. His ability to love and care and protect people makes him so attractive."

Kelli and Jeremy were childhood sweethearts and dated when she was 16 and he was 19 - but they split after a year. Jeremy went on to marry a woman named Gina, who he shares three children with. After Jeremy and Gina split, he and Kelli reconciled - with Jeremy asking her to marry him in 2012 after a year of dating, but they eventually split in October last year. Kelli reportedly learned of her former fiancé's marriage after seeing images in the press. Indeed, last week, photos emerged showing Lana and Jeremy walking hand-in-hand with the singer wearing a white gown and the guide wearing a dark suit.

The snaps showed tents with chairs and tables, as well as guests in formal wear - giving the clear impression a wedding had taken place. The ceremony was three days after the couple reportedly obtained a marriage license in Louisiana. Lana is yet to officially confirm the marriage.

Lana and Jeremy went public with their romance on August 25, as they were spotted holding hands and enjoying a romantic meal in London after she performed at the Reading and Leeds Festival. The couple then attended Karen Elson's wedding this month alongside fellow singer Taylor Swift and her NFL playing boyfriend Travis Kelce.
