EastEnders will air a fire twist in the coming weeks, with cast members appearing to confirm the reports of a blaze hitting Walford.
It was recently claimed that a huge fire would tear through Walford as part of the BBC soap's 40th anniversary build-up. It’s thought more than one building could be destroyed, and several characters are at risk in the blaze.
Viewers are convinced Nish Panesar or a Panesar relative may deliberately start the fire ahead of Nish’s exit. With Nish betraying his family and leaving everything in his will to his grandchildren, not his children or his ex Suki, could one of them take revenge?
The BBC soap has yet to confirm the fire is happening with no spoilers or announcements. Now, Vinny Panesar actor Shiv Jalota has teased the fiery twist will definitely be happening. Priya Nandra-Hart star Sophie Khan Levy also agreed, while the pair also teased the "twists and turns" ahead amid Nish's departure.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards 2024 on Monday 30 September, Shiv hinted that Nish would be involved in the fire drama while he kept quiet on the details. He told us: "There is gonna be a lot of fire," in response to the recent reports.

He went on: "I can't say too much. There's gonna be [twists and turns ahead]. Nish Panesar is such a massive villain, and Navin Chowdhry plays him so well. Anything can happen at the moment. The soap is so good right now that it's all unpredictable.
"I don't know what will happen next but there is a lot more to come [before Nish leaves]." Sophie spilled when asked whether Priya would want revenge on Nish before he leaves: "I think for Priya, her key concern is her kids.
"So what was revealed with Nish's entire assets being left to them in his will was her hurrah moment. She is all about those kids so that's the best she can hope for, but it is Nish Panesar so who knows."
Actor Shiv also told us what Vinny's plan was going forward, after his father Nish tried to kill him. He teased: "Vinny is all for his mum and he wants Suki and Eve to be happy and together. He sees that now. He wants his dad gone he doesn't wanna be involved with him anymore He lost his inheritance but for him it's all about Suki and Eve being together and happy."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , and Threads .
