EastEnders' Letitia Dean flaunts staggering weight loss as she films Christmas scenes

Send Push

EastEnders legend Letitia Dean looked almost unrecognisable as she cut a slimmed down figure while filming scenes for Christmas Day.

The 56-year-old actress, who became a household name playing Sharon Watts from 1985, showed off her transformation as she shot scenes for an upcoming wedding, later this year. Dressed in a fitted black dress, which had a ruched detail to one side, Letitia looked stunning as she completed her look with a pair of black stiletto heels and a matching handbag.

In one picture, the actress was seen sharing a joke with Steve McFadden and in another picture, she was seen with Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy Beale. The actress' weight dropped from 10st 4lbs to 8st 3lbs, which equates to four dress sizes, in just four months.

Back in January the iconic soap star, admitted that she had tried "faddy diets" that didn't work for her but after cutting out junk food, she noticed a remarkable change. In an interview she previously said: "It was incredible. I found I had so much more energy than when I used to eat junk food. The main reason I wanted to do something about my figure was that I was so sick of extreme dieting and my weight yo-yoing."

In the chat with Closer magazine, she continued: "I just woke up one morning, and I'd had enough. For years and years - as long as I can remember - my weight had yo-yoed up and down. I'd go on fad diets like Atkins or I'd only eat eggs." After a history of jumping from one diet to another, she now maintains a 1,300 calorie diet and adds to her healthy diet with running and boxercise.

According to the NHS website, the average person should consume 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 calories a day for men. Recently, Letitia was allegedly forced to hit out at scammers who used her profile to sell weight loss pills.

A source told the MailOnline: "It is complete nonsense for B+ Weight Management or any other weight loss brand to state that Letitia has given permission for her image to be used. This advertisement and product have absolutely no relevance to Letitia whatsoever and she urges any potential customers to do their research before buying weight loss products, especially ones that claim to be using celebrity endorsements."

The promotional advert for B+ Weight Management slimming pills were on Facebook and when people click on the link provided, it takes them through to a fabricated interview with Letitia, and claims she lost five stone in two weeks. And Letitia's co-star Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler, warned her followers during an Instagram live that her pal had zero association with the brand. She also dismissed claims that her weight loss was down to the pills.
