DI Ray viewers fume 'show is ruined' as fans slam 'ridiculous' cliffhanger

During the episode, the team found a chilling photo on Rav's laptop of a young girl, which led to a sinister connection between the Chapman family and the Mochanis.

The photo had been sent to Rav by Frank Chapman three days before his murder. However, the authorities also found three other deleted photos of kids the same age.

After finding out that Rav was in correspondence with an orphanage in India, it was revealed that he was involved in illegally bringing children into the country to get trafficked.

Managing to track down the house that the girl was staying in, officers were told by Rav's ex-girlfriend she had been told to look after the seven-year-old before he disappeared.

However, while speaking to the ex-partner, they learnt Rav might not be involved in killing Frank as he may have a potential alibi.

Towards the end of the episode, the team realised Rav's whereabouts with Rachita being the closest to the scene.

Not wanting to waste any time, DI Ray headed down there herself, while being informed backup was on the way.

However, when she heard a gunshot from within the building, she decided to go inside, alone.

While looking for Rav inside, she found the dead body of Frank's son with Rav nowhere to be seen. Although she heard footsteps before a gun cocked and the episode drew to a close.

One viewer wrote: "Why would she not wait for backup after hearing a gunshot absolutely ridiculous."

A synopsis for the next episode reads: "Crime thriller. The clock is ticking on tracing an armed fugitive after a third murder occurs, and DI Ray must face her past to find the next piece of the puzzle."
