Deal Or No Deal fans were thrilled with one contestant's well-earned victory, even though they could have won a larger sum.
Stephen Mulhern returned for another tension-filled episode on Thursday afternoon (October 31), with one hopeful player eager to hit the jackpot. This time, it was Mike's turn to take on the notorious banker in the ultimate game of chance.
Mike started off strong, clearing most of the blue boxes with lower offers in the first round. However, halfway through the game, Mike's luck took a turn for the worse as he missed out on the £250,000 jackpot prize.
This was followed by a loss of £50,000. With only low offers coming from the banker, things looked grim for Mike and his wife Penny, who was watching from the audience.
But towards the end of the show, fortune began to favour Mike. The firefighter managed to clear all his blue boxes, leaving him with £2,000, £3,000 and £7,500, reports .
With the banker clearly on edge, Mike was offered £5,950 for his box. Unsure of what to do, Mike decided to accept the deal that he was offered.
However, it was then time to reveal what was in his box. Unfortunately for Mike, it contained a whopping £7,500. Despite the significant loss, Mike remained upbeat, insisting he was content with the result. Viewers at home also applauded his decision, despite the substantial loss involved.
Fans of the show took to social media to congratulate Mike on his win. One viewer wrote: "Well done Mike!! Huge respect for the work that you do...and your game of Deal or No Deal!!!!"
Another fan chimed in with: "Pleased for him well deserved." A third posted: "Well done Mike on winning £5950 very well deserved, what a humble guy."
A fourth commented: "A last-minute deal was struck for £5,950!!! Great job, Mike.... but he could have had £7,500 had he just turned that last offer down."
Meanwhile, another fan said: "Shame, didn't quite thrash the Banker, but good game. Thanks for all you and your guys do Mike!!"
Deal Or No Deal airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV1.
