Bridgerton fans raging after spending up to £750 on abysmal themed event

Bridgerton fans hoping for a spectacular and unique experience were left feeling extremely short changed following a recent event.

Super fans of the hit Netflix period drama forked out up to $1000 each (£747) on the supposed glam showing, but were left furious by what they found. Tickets for the event based on the series cost at least $150 (£112) per ticket, but some splashed up to $1,000 (£747) for the Duke and Duchess option. The pricier range was supposed to include orchestra music, a professional dance card, professional photos and a valet, according to AV Club.

The event, which was billed as a chance for fans to "step into the enchanting world of the Regency-era for an evening of sophistication, grace and historical charm" took place in Detroit, USA, on September 22. It saw fans of the show fly in from different locations and spend hard earned cash on the likes of ball gowns and hotels.

When they arrived at the three-story Harmonie Club, many were shocked at their findings. Instead of their expected "royalty" greeting, they discovered cheap décor, a sole violinist, and a pole-dancing stripper who claimed to have only been hired three hours prior to the event's start time.

Photos shared online by TikTok user called Nita showed the party flopping as guests sat bored around the room scrolling through their phones. The disastrous offering came after the event had already been pushed back at just three days notice, according to one TikTok user. Another user on Twitter/X claimed the company had apparently lied about the rescheduling, claiming they were told the original venue would not accommodate all of their guests for the sold-out event.

Taking to Reddit to share their frustrated experience, one user wrote: "All attendees looked absolutely decked out, but there was zero direction. We essentially followed the crowd to the third floor, where we saw LOCAL FREAKNG VENDORS selling goods like we were at a local festival. After seeing people sitting on the floor in disappointment, my wife and I left."

They were far from the only disgruntled commenters either, with one TikTok user sharing a clip of people leaving with the caption: "Hadn't even walked in and over 60 people left. Ppl leaving told me to just go bar hopping with them."

Another joked they had "never seen a pole in the show" referring to the scantily dressed dancer performing. They added that before the night was over, tunes such as Soulja Boy were played.

Other fans' fury was directed at the lack of best-dressed competition that was advertised, as well as the poor food and drinks that were offered. Some even complained that the food ran out after an hour, with others claiming they were served raw dishes.

The event was not licensed or sponsored by Netflix, which hosts its own touring event called The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience.

Responding to fans looking for answers, organisers Uncle & Me LLC told local news station WXYZ: "We understand that not everyone had the experience they hoped for at our most recent event Sunday night at The Harmonie Club and for that, we sincerely apologise.

"Our intention was to provide a magical evening, but we recognise that organisational challenges affected the enjoyment of some guests. We take full responsibility and accountability for these shortcomings. Please know that we are working diligently to address all concerns to ensure that all guests have the enjoyable experience they deserve. Your feedback is invaluable and we truly appreciate both the positive and constructive comments shared with us."

The company concluded by saying: "We are reviewing resolution options, which will be communicated shortly. Your understanding and loyalty mean the world to us, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to make this right."
