Bob Mortimer issues 'powerful' Gone Fishing update after appearance sparks concern

Comedian Bob Mortimer has quelled fans' worries after they became concerned about him, teasing a "powerful" upcoming edition of Gone Fishing. His latest stint on sparked unease amongst viewers, many of whom took to social media to express that he seemed "off".

Bob graced the show alongside host duo and on Sunday, 3 November. Stars such as Made in Chelsea's Binky Felstead, Dragons Den's Deborah Meaden, Man Down's Mike Wozniak, and songstress Orla Gartland joined him.

Viewers of noticed immediately that Bob was not quite his usual self, with multiple tweets surfacing regarding the comedian's health, reports .

One viewer tweeted: "There's a vibe in the room today. Everyone is on edge, nothing is settled, and there's a burgeoning sense of irritated armageddon building. It's perfect #sundaybrunch." (sic)

Another chimed in saying: "There seems to be something wrong with Bob. He doesn't seem himself."

Another fan commented: "Bob is looking very distracted in this segment!" Wile someone else observed: "Bob looks like he'd rather be at home."

The episode further surprised fans when Bob was served a questionable meal - a mug brimming with mashed potato drenched in butter - which was a choice that prompted immediate reactions due to Bob's history of heart surgery. Viewers pointed out that such food isn't advisable for maintaining cardiac health. Bob has had a triple heart bypass operation previously.

A concerned fan remarked: "Excellent side dish for a man with a serious heart condition - mash with a third of butter in it."

While another implored: "Bob has a bad heart, don't kill him Simon." (sic)

Despite health concerns from his followers, Bob seemed unperturbed and went on to tease an upcoming episode of the beloved series, Gone Fishing, which he hosts with buddy Paul Whitehouse.

Taking to social media, Bob hyped up Sunday's instalment by posting a trailer where the two engage in light-hearted banter amid their angling exploits across the British Isles.

Bob enticed fans with a tweet about the next show, which read: "Very powerful Gone Fishing tonight at 9:00pm. I grow some hooves and Paul goes to war with a goose." The cheeky preview featured the pair on a "champing" journey within the hallowed walls of an ancient church, showing a jovial exchange with Bob asking Paul: "What do you think?" Before he pleas: "Don't be angry!"

The teaser garnered affectionate responses as one aficionado exclaimed: "The highlight of Sunday."

Another voiced their adoration: "Love this programme. A lovely watch and so calming. Perfect end to a Sunday." (sic)

A third chimed in, celebrating the show's appeal: "There's nothing better on TV, genuine humour and sheer love."
