It is well known, that a move for Isak will not be easy. Various reports claim that Newcastle could demand a fee in excess of £150m for their striker.
Now with Isak having lifted silverware with the Magpies, who are also fighting for a spot, why would the 25-year-old leave?
Well, our sister title has reported Newcastle have revived their interest in Calvert-Lewin ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Everton striker has always been a player who Howe admires and there were talks of the 28-year-old striker moving to St James Park last June, but Newcastle eventually pulled out of negotiations.

However, the Magpies' interest in Calvert-Lewin has resurfaced as clubs prepare for the summer transfer window. This link could be a boost for Arsenal in their hunt for Isak's signature.
Newcastle will be well aware of the growing interest in their star striker and will have contingency plans in place, despite the Swede constantly shrugging-off transfer rumours, there's bound to come a time where a club like Arsenal or Barcelona go all in and present an offer they can't refuse.
This means that looking at strikers like Calvert-Lewin, who has had a tough time at Everton as of late, could act as a stop gap for Newcastle in the short run. The Toffees' forward has struggled with injuries but did score over 20 goals in the In the 2020/21 season campaign.
However, it's worth recognising that if Newcastle are to sign the Englishman this summer, he will likely be a straight swap for Calum Wilson with both players set free agents this summer. The current Magpies striker has struggled with injuries and the Toon are short of options in reserve.
Still, signing Calvert-Lewin would bolster their options, with the 28-year-old five years younger than Wilson. Despite currently being out injured, it could be argued Calvert-Lewin has more years ahead of him in the Premier League than the current Newcastle striker.
If he were to sign, it would alleviate some of the pressure on Newcastle to find an immediate Isak replacement. Of course, much of this remains speculative.
Right now, Isak is happy at Newcastle and the club are preparing for Wilson's probable departure this summer and will therefore need a replacement striker regardless of what happens with the Swede. But given Arsenal's lack of options up front, they’ll seize any opportunity that arises.
