Arsenal defender William Saliba will miss the next three domestic matches after being shown a straight red card against Bournemouth, including next Sunday's meeting with Liverpool.
The Frenchman was initially given a yellow card by referee Rob Jones for hauling down Evanilson, having made no attempt to play the ball. However, a VAR review saw the decision upgraded to a straight red card.
Saliba, barring a successful appeal, will now miss the home game with Liverpool next weekend as well as the League Cup tie with Preston North End the following midweek. He will also miss the league trip to Newcastle United on November 2.
Explaining the reason behind Saliba's dismissal, PGMOL said: "The referee gave Saliba a yellow card for a challenge on Evanilson. The VAR deemed that Saliba denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and recommended an on-field review. The referee then upgraded the yellow to a red card."
