Chittorgarh police seize 395 kilograms of illegal opium poppy

BHILWARA: On Wednesday, the Begu police station in Chittorgarh district conducted a major operation against illegal narcotics, seizing a Fortuner car along with 395 kilograms and 370 grams of illegal opium poppy powder.

The police registered a case under the NDPS Act and initiated an investigation.

Chittorgarh SP Sudhir Joshi stated that all station officers in the district were instructed to take strict action against drug traffickers. Under the supervision of ASP Bhagwat Singh Higar and Begu DSP Anjali Singh, a special team was formed under the leadership of Begu Station Officer Shivlal Meena.

The team, while patrolling the Kota-Chittorgarh highway near Sadalpur village, observed the Fortuner car driver abandoning the vehicle upon seeing the police checkpoint.

Upon searching the car, the police found a total of 395 kilograms and 370 grams of illegal opium poppy powder packed in 21 plastic bags.

The police seized the Fortuner car and the illegal opium poppy powder, registering a case against the car driver under the NDPS Act and starting an investigation.
