Jhunjhunu: Laxmangarh police and DST team in Sikar arrested five criminals who were planning an armed robbery at a major pan masala trader in Laxmangarh.
Laxmangarh police officer Mahendra Singh reported that they received a tip-off about five people who were conducting surveillance for three to four days near Kabootar Chowk area, targeting a wholesale trader's shop.
The plan was to rob the merchant's cash collection bag while he travelled on his motorcycle to and from his home.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ilyas, Jaiprakash, Kamlesh Kumar, Vinod and Pradeep Bagadia. The police seized a country-made pistol with cartridges, a lighter resembling a pistol, an air gun resembling a revolver, chili powder intended for use against the merchant, a visor pipe, and an unregistered Pulsar motorcycle from the criminals.
